About the Trust=
The
Trust was founded in the 1880s to assist the children of the poor in St
Bridget’s Parish. When St Bridget’s School was the only institu=
tion
of primary education in the parish, the Trust provided a house for the
schoolmaster.
Eventually, the Trust invested in another hous=
e, which
was sold in 1986. The capital from that sale is now invested and produces an
annual income, of approximately £2,000 in recent years. The Charity
Commission supervises the Trust and allows for disbursement of the annual i=
nterest.
The
Trust was established to promote the education in the doctrines of the Chur=
ch
of England of persons resident in the parish of St Bridget’s, (which
includes Caldy) and St Michael’s, Newton. It also promotes the educat=
ion
(including social and physical training) of former pupils of St BridgetR=
17;s
School under the age of 25 years.

Grant:
Organisations,
groups or individuals are invited to apply in writing, setting out the aims=
and
scope of the project, details of expenditure, together with an indication of
the way in which it is seen to conform to the Trust’s parameters.
Successful applicants will be required to produce confirmation of the way in
which the grant was used.
The
Trust is administered by five Trustees: the Incumbent of St Bridget’s
Church who is also the Chair of the Trust, and the remaining Trustees appoi=
nted
by St Bridget’s, Caldy and St Michael’s churches and Wirral
Education. The Trustees meet twice a year, usually in March and October.
