Two New Readers
In April we had the
pleasure to welcome two trained readers, Mary Smith, who has joined us from St
Michael’s
We were very pleased to hear in September of the appointment of a new CURATE, who will join us after Ordination on 13th July. Tina Upton is training on the Northern Ordination Course (on which David Chester and Malcolm Cowan both trained, and on the successor of which John Harrison is just beginning his
training). She is currently a Reader in the Parish of Holy Cross,
Woodchurch (a Church with a “tradition”
of worship and spirituality similar to our own) and before that ministered at
St Mary’s, Upton. She trained as a
Psychiatrist and for many years worked in the National Health service – she is
currently teaching Psychology. Tina
already possesses a wealth of pastoral
and ministerial experience and we look forward to sharing ministry with
her. We will have the opportunity to
meet Tina on a number of occasions over the next few months. Please pray for
her as she continues her training and ministerial formation.
In October 2007
the Parochial Church Council welcomed this exciting national ecumenical initiative
for 2008, and committed the parish to participation in the West Kirby events.
