House Groups

 

Several groups meet in people’s homes for fellowship and study, at different times and on different days , and a group meets weekly to pray for healing of the sick. We also run Alpha Courses on Christian Basics at intervals. If you are interested, please speak to the clergy.

 

 

Prayer Groups

 

A  Contemplative Prayer Group meets monthly in St Bridget’s Church Centre on  Wednesday evenings at 7:45.

An Intercessory Prayer Group meets at St Bridget’s monthly.

 

 

 Here may we prove the power of prayer

To strengthen faith and sweeten care

To teach our faint desires to rise

And bring all heaven before our eyes 

 

Church Social Life

Bind us together…

 

The Mothers’ Union

meets monthly in the afternoon, with a varied programme of speakers and fellowship, and supports the work of

this worldwide campaigning charity. Members need not be mothers, married or even female.

organises a varied programme of social events and speakers, and raises money for the Church.

C A M E O

[Come And Meet Each Other]

meets monthly in the evening, with a varied programme of fellowship and speakers. Members are at present all female.

 The Summer Fair and Ceilidh

involve a lot of work for the Committee, but are great occasions for teamwork and good public relations,

as people stream in from beyond our church community.

 The Fair is held on Rectory Field in June, and the Ceilidh in Westbourne Hall in February.

The Social Committee

organise several events each year – the biggest is the Harvest Supper, in October.

Kneeler Group

The group is currently making new kneelers for St Bridget’s Church,

and meets at 10:00 in the  Church Centre on most  Wednesday mornings.

Baby and Toddler Group

in Caldy Church Hall on Thursday mornings at 10:15 in term-time

(except when we have a Family Service in Church).

Youth Group for teenagers

We now participate in West Kirby United Youth Fellowship, meeting on Sunday evenings at 8:15.

The venue rotates around the local Churches. More about WKYF

Young people also ring bells, read lessons, serve at the altar, help in Sunday Club, play instruments,

and contribute to our life and worship in many ways.

 

We run a Holiday Club each summer for Primary School age children.

The Church has a Child Protection Officer and follows approved registration procedures for vetting people who work with children.

 

 

           

            When in the slippery paths of youth

Music

 

Both our Churches have Choirs at the 10:00 service,

and St Bridget’s also has a Family Service Singing Group, with instrumentalists.

Wirral Symphony Orchestra

This successful orchestra was formerly affiliated to the Church, and maintains close links with us.

They perform concerts throughout Wirral, including a classical Mass presented each year in Church,

in February,  to celebrate St Bridget’s Day.
